Gail L. Lamoureux, BS, RN, PMH-BC, Care Manager at Humana, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in psychiatry.
Ms. Lamoureux is an accomplished medical professional with more than 40 years of experience in psychiatry and nursing. Since 2009, she has excelled as a care manager at Humana. Prior to this role, she worked as a geriatrics nurse for 20 years as well as a nurse’s aide.
As a certified behavioral-psychiatric mental health nurse, Ms. Lamoureux is eminently qualified in her career field. Alongside this credential, she was previously certified as a gerontological nurse. In support of her professional ambitions, she earned an associate degree in nursing in 1981, after which she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in health care leadership.
Ms. Lamoureux is passionate about making quality care accessible and giving her patients the tools to succeed in their lives. Working in the healthcare sector is a family endeavor, as her sister is a cardiac nurse and her stepsister works at a children’s hospital. Notably, she has contributed to her community by delivering food and resources to elderly, homebound friends during the COVID-19 pandemic and paying for meals for the less fortunate. In her spare time, Ms. Lamoureux enjoys scrapbooking and making seniors laugh through clowning. She is a member of the South East Clown Association.
Ms. Lamoureux attributes her success to her mentors who have guided her throughout her professional journey. Among her most notable accomplishments, she is proud of teaching methods for treating anxiety without medication. She also fondly recalls helping a client who had not left her house in a decade due to her severe agoraphobia, eventually working with her for three years and aided her in becoming a ballroom dancer and visiting her daughters in college. Ms. Lamoureux hopes to continue helping patients as a nurse for many decades to come.
