Jen Moroz, PhD, a diagnostic medical physicist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Healthcare Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of health science.
Dr. Moroz has earned distinction through her role at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a teaching hospital affiliated with the Harvard Medical School with an annual research budget of more than $630 million. Having served as a diagnostic medical physicist since 2021, she bears a particular expertise in radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging, and is responsible for ensuring that all medical equipment adheres to the guidelines of the Federal Drug Administration or other accrediting bodies, as well as monitoring pharmaceutical dosages on behalf of patients.
Prior to her current position, Dr. Moroz became interested in diagnostic imaging while undertaking a work experience program in high school, during which time she observed firsthand the passion and talent of diagnostic technologists, as well as the powerful equipment they utilized in the pursuit of their duties. After attending the University of Alberta, from which she received a Bachelor of Science in applied physics and a Master of Science in medical physics in 2007 and 2010, respectively, she went on to attain a Doctor of Philosophy in physics at the University of British Columbia in 2019. Following this accomplishment, she undertook a residency in imaging physics at the Yale New Haven Hospital, after which she joined the staff at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
To remain aware of developments in her field, Dr. Moroz maintains her affiliation with the American College of Radiology and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine. Additionally, she has presented three oral presentations before the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.
Among her most dearly held achievements, Dr. Moroz is most proud to have been accepted into the imaging physics residency program at the Yale New Haven Hospital, which proved challenging to attain. In accounting for her overall success, she largely credits the encouragement of her support network, including her parents, who encouraged her to become a scientist. Looking toward the future, Dr. Moroz hopes to pursue teaching opportunities within the next five years.
