A shy and quiet child while growing up, Ms. Hauk cultivated an interest in human behavior at an early age. After graduating from high school, she went on to work as a child and youth care counselor at Hull Services between 1998 and 2007. During this time, she studied psychology at the University of Calgary, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, and a Master of Science in school and applied psychology in 2005 and 2007, respectively. Having discovered a passion for assessment, child development, and treatment, Ms. Hauk went on to work in her current capacity as a contract psychologist and in private practice.
To remain aware of developments in her field, Ms. Hauk maintains her affiliations with such organizations as the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Psychologists Association of Alberta. In addition to having earned numerous scholarships and awards for her exemplary academic performance, she was named as the Employee of the Year for Cottage Seven by Hull Services in 2006, and among the 40 Best Psychologists in Calgary by The Best Calgary in 2023.
