Pam Pearson Sams, retired senior social worker from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of social work.
Ms. Sams has cultivated a career of excellence as a licensed clinical social worker, with more than 40 years of experience to her credit. Now retired from full-time work, she previously operated as a senior social worker for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs from 2017 to 2020, having originally joined the organization in 2012. Since 2022, she has volunteered as a part-time health resource navigator for Easterseals Florida. In her other social work endeavors, Ms. Sams worked with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Inc. as a care coordinator from 2009 to 2011 and as a contracted social worker for NHC Home Care from 2000 to 2009. At the onset of her career, she was a social worker for the community placement program for Frontier Health between 1978 and 1979.
Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Sams pursued a formal education at The University of Alabama. During her time at the institution, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work in 1976 and a Master of Social Work in clinical social work in 1978. From an early age, Ms. Sams held a sincere desire to help others, and so she naturally gravitated toward her career in social work. Accounting for her many professional accomplishments and endeavors, Ms. Sams is particularly proud to have served as an appointee on the Board of Social Work Licensure in the state of Tennessee from 2007 to 2014.
