Since 2018, Ms. Heroux has been a managing partner, director, owner and recovery coach at The Affinity House. She has additionally worked as a medical consultant for the Northeast Addictions Treatment Center since 2019. From 2017 to 2018, she was an adjunct professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and from 2001 to 2018, she was a nurse practitioner with Cape Cod Healthcare.
Ms. Heroux began her career as a nurse practitioner in emergency medicine for 15 years. From 1998 to 2011, she was an adjunct professor at Cape Cod Community College. In 2021, Ms. Heroux authored “Lesson of Red Dragon.” Alongside her primary endeavors, she has been a pastor with North Street Community Church since 2020.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Heroux attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing in 2003. She went on to complete postmaster’s coursework in psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts. After years of experience as a professional nurse, Ms. Heroux transitioned into her current career after personal experience with her daughter’s alcoholism. Together with her two daughters, she decided to open a sober living home to offer better services to those struggling with addiction.
To keep abreast of her field, Ms. Heroux is a member of the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing. She attributes her success to her positive attitude. In the next five to 10 years, she hopes to continue finding success with The Affinity House and possibly open a men’s sober living facility in collaboration with the Church of the Nazarene. In her spare time, Ms. Heroux enjoys taking photographs of nature.
