With more than 15 years of professional experience to her credit, Dr. Richards has served as a clinical pharmacy manager for St. Joseph’s Health since 2020. From 2019 to 2020, she was a clinical pharmacy coordinator with the same organization, before which she was a clinical pharmacist from 2011 to 2019. She began working for St. Joseph’s Health in 2009 as a PGY1 pharmacy practice resident. From 2006 to 2009, Dr. Richards was a pharmacy intern at Walmart.
In preparation for her career, Dr. Richards attended Hampton University and earned a Doctor of Pharmacy in 2009. Alongside her formal degree, she is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. In addition to her primary roles, Dr. Richards found success through her written works. She contributed to “Opioid Prescribing at Discharge in Opioid-Naïve Trauma Patients” in The American Surgeon Journal and authored “Ceftolozane-Tazobactam for the Treatment of Multidrug-Resistant Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Infections: A Multicenter Study” in the Open Forum Infectious Diseases Journal. To keep abreast of her field, Dr. Richards has served as the board secretary for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. In her spare time, she enjoys reading.
