Ms. Ayers-Shaw has excelled since 2021 as a renal social worker with U.S. Renal Care. In this position, she conducts depression screenings, collaborates with facilities for transplant coordination, helps patients through their diagnoses and assists patients with securing government disability benefits to cover dialysis treatment. Ms. Ayers-Shaw also coordinates with hospital and rehabilitation facilities, offers resources to patients and conducts interventions for substance abuse.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Ayers-Shaw worked at a nursing home and mental health facility. She held positions with the Habersham Medical Center, Northeast Georgia Health System and various home health agencies. For three years, Mr. Ayers-Shaw garnered experience as a regional social worker. She began her career as a mental health worker with Avita and a substance abuse counselor at Allendale State Prison.
In preparation for her career in social work, Ms. Ayers-Shaw graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in 2007. She went on to complete her master’s degree at the institution. For her accomplishments, she earned an Employee of the Week award and obtained a scholarship for her work with cancer patients. Ms. Ayers-Shwa was also featured in an article while working at Habersham Medical Center (HMC) HomeCare.
Among her accomplishments, Ms. Ayers-Shaw considers her advancement in her field and holistic perspective as her greatest achievements. In her spare time, she enjoys the arts, baking cakes, crocheting and music. She is happy in her current role and looks forward to continuing her success with U.S. Renal Care.
