Since 2020, Ms. Schifino has excelled as the patient flow director at Kent Hospital. In this capacity, she manages the flow of patients from the emergency room and surgical services to their hospital beds. She coordinates with other departments to handle admissions and discharges, assists the bed management team in placing patients and surveys an overview of the hospital and its patients. Ms. Schifino previously served Kent Hospital as a nurse manager and assistant nurse manager in surgical services.

In preparation for her career, Ms. Schifino attended Providence College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in biology in 1995. She continued her higher education at Worcester State College, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Ms. Schifino attributes her success to her kindness and compassion. She works hard to keep her staff happy by ensuring an excellent work-life balance for all her team members She considers the staffing changes she has made as her greatest professional achievement, as she has built a cohesive and coordinated team. In the coming years, Ms. Schifino hopes to become an associate clinical nurse leader.
