Dominique Shantal Bailem, social services coordinator at Gulf Coast Village, VOA, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in geriatric care.
Having recently begun her career in 2016, Ms. Bailem is a rising expert in the health care industry. Specializing in geriatric care and behavioral science, she recently took on the role of director of social services at the Gulf Coast Village, a Volunteers of America community located in Cape Coral, Florida, in 2022. In this position, she is largely responsible for finding appropriate placements and accommodations for patients and residents. Additionally, Ms. Bailem lends her skills and knowledge to the interdisciplinary and event-planning teams to assist in creating tighter coordination throughout the business.
Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Bailem operated in a similar position at Calusa Harbour, a Five Star Senior Living community located in Fort Myers, Florida, from 2018 to 2021. She originally began her career as a housekeeper for the organization, a role she maintained from 2016 to 2018. Well-regarded for her bright personality and dedication to her residents, Ms. Bailem was previously recognized as the Queen of Social Workers in her community.
Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Bailem pursued a formal education. To wit, she was initially approached by a fellow social worker while working at Calusa Harbour and offered a social worker position, but she declined in favor of first acquiring her academic degree. She subsequently earned a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Behavioral Science at Ashford University in 2017, and shortly thereafter began her career in social work in earnest.
In light of her fulfilling career, Ms. Bailem largely attributes her success to her faith. Accounting for her accomplishments, she is most notably proud to have not given up on her own spiritual journey, which proved instrumental in her ability to make a difference in the lives of others. Looking to the future, she looks forward to continuing her efforts as a social worker. Additionally, she hopes to start her own business geared toward assisting the homeless in her community. Furthermost, Ms. Bailem will be joining Health Park Care & Rehabilitation Center in Fort Myers, Florida in May 2023.
