In this position, she notably created a unique multidisciplinary post-acute therapy program called “The Independence Lab.” She previously operated as the lead physical therapist at the Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Illinois, from 2008 to 2017. She also originally began her career in 2007, working as a physical therapist for AthletiCo until 2008. Since 2009, Jaclyn’s clinical special interest areas include manual therapy, vestibular care, women’s health, TMD, orthopedics – especially the cervical spine, visceral mobilization, PNF, performing arts, and treatment of patients with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Dr. Kalous has dedicated much of her time to creating educational videos, presentations, and professional CEU-accredited classes pertaining to topics such as manual therapy, women’s health, fall prevention, vertigo, ergonomics, supportive sleeping, and injury prevention.

Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Dr. Kalous pursued a formal education, earning a Bachelor of Psychology at Indiana University Bloomington in 2004 and a Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Illinois Chicago in 2007. In addition to her academic credentials, she also holds several industry-related certifications, including as a clinical instructor and CPR-BLS provider. She likewise received her advanced certification in manual therapy from NAIOMT in 2021. Outside of her primary vocation, she also remains dedicated to civic advocacy, regularly participating in charitable bicycle rides and races and volunteering as a dance performer and instructor in her community. Throughout her career, Dr. Kalous has strived to lead others with compassion, and she has largely attributed her success to her faith and dedication to providing the highest-quality care possible.
