Melanie Rosanna Fredericks, DHA, MBA, Internal Audit Consultant at MRF Health Solutions, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care administration.
In preparation for her career as a health administrator, Dr. Fredericks pursued higher education at multiple institutions. She graduated in 1994 from Hunter College, part of the City University of New York system, with a Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory science. In 2000, she earned a Master of Business Administration in health care administration and policy from Bernard M. Baruch College, also part of CUNY. In 2021, Dr. Fredericks graduated from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, with a Doctor of Healthcare Administration.
Alongside her formal degrees, Dr. Fredericks holds myriad professional certifications. With CITI Program, she has completed programs in human subject research, conflicts of interest, and social and behavioral research. The Institute for Internal Controls certified her as an Internal Controls Auditor in 2013 and the Institute of Internal Auditors granted her a Certification in Risk Management Assurance in 2012. Dr. Fredericks is a Certified Internal Auditor with the Institute of Internal Auditors and holds accreditation in internal quality assessment from the same organization. Alongside her primary posts, she has contributed since 2005 as a volunteer course facilitator with the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Since 2019, Dr. Fredericks has found success as an internal audit consultant for the New York City health plan with MRF Health Solutions. Prior to this post, she garnered experience as a consultant with Network ESC, the president of business development with the Comite Center for Precision Medicine, and a secretary on the executive board of the St. Rose’s Alumni Association USA Inc. From 2013 to 2019, Dr. Fredericks was the director of internal audit and compliance for the Brooklyn Hospital Center, and from 2008 to 2013, she was an internal audit manager with EmblemHealth. To keep abreast of developments in her field, she maintains affiliation with the American College of Healthcare Executives and was a member of the Health Care Compliance Association from 2014 to 2019. In the coming years, Dr. Fredericks wants to publish a book on internal health care auditing and start a company in that industry.
