Since 2021, she has served as a clinical supervisor for Spectrum Health Systems Inc. in Bainbridge, Georgia, having originally joined the company in 2015 as a counselor. Specializing in addiction counseling, she is largely responsible for meeting with patients, clients and participants each day and motivating them within a therapeutic community, in addition to supervising her team and their groups. Ms. Barrett began her career as a therapist at Best Center in Thomasville, Georgia.
Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Barrett pursued a formal education. Spending the duration of her collegiate career at Thomas University, she earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies in 2010 and a master’s degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling in 2013. In addition to her academic credentials, Ms. Barrett is also certified as a professional clinical supervisor, a licensed professional counselor, a nationally certified counselor, and she is recognized as a master addictions counselor. She gravitated towards a career in health care on account of her sincere desire to help others, especially in regard to overcoming addictions. To wit, she is notably proud to have earned her many certifications, and to have been selected by the chief executive officer of her company to receive the President’s Award. In the coming years, Ms. Barrett hopes to continue gaining experience as a counselor and supervisor.
