With years of experience to her credit, Ms. Smith has excelled as a speech-language pathologist with Soliant since 2021. Prior to this appointment, she found success through her work at the Whitesburg Gardens Nursing Home, at which she received the Angel Award in 2010 and 2011, and Lincoln County Schools. She has been additionally affiliated with the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Alabama Association for Speech Therapists throughout her career. Ms. Smith initially served as an English teacher at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists early in her professional pursuits.
Ms. Smith previously earned a bachelor’s degree from Andrew’s University in 1975 to support his primary endeavors. He subsequently concluded her studies at the University of Alabama in 2001, graduating with a Master of Science in speech-language pathology. Attributing her success to the opportunity to work with others in a school setting, she was drawn to her field as a result of her own experiences with a friend’s deaf sister, who struggled with her communication skills. Looking toward the future, Ms. Smith hopes to become an auditory verbal therapist in order to help children living with hearing loss better develop their hearing levels, speaking skills and articulation.
