Many of his clients are refugees who have come to America to escape disasters, wars and political turmoil. Mr. Ajuoga also specializes in treating and counseling patients who are grappling with various mental and emotional traumas. 

Adjacent to his primary position, Mr. Ajuoga also serves as a professor at Creighton University and Iowa Western Community College. He previously taught students at Bellevue University for 10 years. As part of his dedication to his profession, he also remains affiliated with the American Counseling Association and the Nebraska Counseling Association. In addition to his vocational accomplishments, Mr. Ajuoga is also well regarded for his dedication to civic advocacy, volunteering as the mental health chairperson of the American Red Cross.

Originally from Kenya, Mr. Ajuoga immigrated to the United States to pursue his formal education and licensure as a psychotherapist. Beginning his studies at Dana College in Blair, Nebraska, he earned a bachelor’s degree. He subsequently achieved a master’s degree at Northwest Missouri State University. In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Ajuoga is also fluent in Luo and Swahili. 

To commemorate his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Ajuoga has been recognized with several accolades over the course of his career, including a Distinguished Faculty Award from Creighton University in 2022 and the Gershom Award for Outstanding Immigrant Community Service in 2007. Accounting for his many accomplishments, he attributes much of his success to his love for helping others and his skills as a listener. Over the course of his career, he has been most notably proud to have aided others in response to Hurricane Katrina, working with medical crews and serving as a mental health volunteer. In the coming years, Mr. Ajuoga looks forward to continuing his efforts of helping others in need.
