Raquel Reed, Speech-Language Pathologist operating out of a pediatric home care company in Colorado, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in speech therapy.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Hawaii in 1997, Ms. Reed subsequently earned a Master of Arts in speech-language pathology from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio in 2001. Notably, she is certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. She has additionally accrued her certifications in Beckman oral motor and deep tissue training, Lee Silverman voice training, the Kaufman Apraxia Method and melodic based communication training. As a speech-language pathologist, she works with children and adults who have problems with speech and language, including related cognitive or social communication problems. Ms. Reed has provided superior service as a speech-language pathologist with multiple school districts since 2001 and currently excels operating in conjunction with a pediatric home care company and a healthcare personnel company.
Ms. Reed has further served her community as a volunteer teacher with a Disability Sunday School Classroom at a local church, as a volunteer trainer at Children’s Hospital Colorado’s “Talking with Technology” Camp in 2019 and as a former volunteer with an English as a Second Language (ESL) program. Moreover, in what she considers to be a career highlight, she is a six-time recipient of ACE American Speech-Language and Hearing Association Awards for continuing education. Ms. Reed attributes her success to her strong faith and her continuing education, which has been instrumental in building her skills and knowledge in speech-language therapy. In the coming years, Ms. Reed hopes to become certified in several other speech therapy techniques to further her skills and knowledge in the field. Additionally, she is looking for more avenues where she can volunteer her time and skills either locally or internationally.
