Having accrued over two decades of experience, Mr. King is a proven leader in the field of health care counseling. As a licensed professional counselor (LPC), he specializes in treating patients with mental health and substance abuse issues. Since 2015, he has operated as a substance abuse program manager at Specialty Counseling & Consulting in Cheyenne, Wyoming. In this role, Mr. King oversees treatment programs, meets with and treats clients, trains fellow clinicians and interns, and provides substance abuse evaluations.

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. King previously served with the Southwest Wyoming Recovery Access Programs as an LPC substance abuse and mental health counselor from 2012 to 2015. In addition, he worked extensively with Capstone Counseling Services, holding various positions in the company from 2006 to 2012. He began his career in 2000, working with the Southwest Counseling Service in Rock Springs, Wyoming, as a residential staff member in inpatient substance abuse treatment until 2003. As part of his commitment to his profession, Mr. King also remains an associate member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. King pursued a formal education, beginning with his time at the University of Wyoming. During his time studying there, he earned both a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Bachelor of Science in gender and women’s studies in 2006. Mr. King subsequently continued his studies at his alma mater, earning a Master of Science in counseling in 2008. Furthermore, he is recognized as a licensed professional counselor in the state of Wyoming, as well as a licensed addiction counselor.

Having recovered from his own addictions, Mr. King felt naturally inclined to pursue a career in counseling. To wit, he aims to help others who are struggling in the same ways he did. Over the course of his accomplished career, he is most notably proud to simply give back to his community in the same ways they gave to him. In the coming years, Mr. King intends to continue operating in his profession.
