Edith Helena Kidd-Willis, Psychotherapist at ClearView Counseling Services, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in counseling and social services.
Following completing coursework in ministry, counseling and psychology seminars from Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama in 1975, Ms. Kidd-Willis subsequently earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Wayne State University in Detroit in 1991. She continued her education with a Master of Arts in counselor education from the aforementioned university in 1998. Since 1985, she has provided superior care as counselor and vice president of Living Waters Inc. LRC and since 2021 as a licensed mental health counselor, psychotherapist and owner of ClearView Counseling Services, also in Southfield. Ms. Kidd-Willis also provided superior care as a licensed mental health counselor from 1999 to 2009 and as senior services coordinator, therapist and case manager from 2009 to 2015 with UCAN, a premier social services organization in Chicago.
Avidly interested in community and national affairs, Ms. Kidd-Willis holds memberships in the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, the National Museum of African American History and Culture and the Smithsonian Institution. She is the recipient of several awards for her poetry as well as many ministerial honors and honorable mentions. Ms. Kidd-Willis’s professional memberships include the Michigan Counseling Association, American Association of Christian Counselors, Illinois Association for Couple and Family Counseling and the Illinois Association for Specialists in Group Work. In the coming years, Ms. Kidd-Willis plans to continue standing for social justice, peace, and share love and understanding.
