Rebecca Wohlfehrt, Cardiac Sonographer at Buffalo Ultrasound, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in patient care.
After obtaining an Associate of Applied Science in liberal arts from Niagara County Community College in Sanborn, New York, Ms. Wohlfehrt provided superior service working in echocardiography with Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville, New York beginning in 1983. She has found much success since 2004 with Buffalo Ultrasound as a cardiac sonographer, a health care professional specially trained to use imaging technology to help physicians diagnose heart problems in patients, operating ultrasound equipment that provides moving 2-D or 3-D images of the heart and its chambers.
Ms. Wohlfehrt’s career path has also included working at local area hospitals at which she was able to learn transesophageal echo as well as stress echo. She very much enjoyed the variety of mobile work, where she learned to perform carotid and arterial doppler as well. After working in health care for nearly four decades, her focus has shifted to bringing a little joy and laughter to her elderly patients. She sees how happy and content they feel after just the little bit of extra attention that she gives to them. Ms. Wohlfehrt’s goal in the coming years is to slow down a little and enjoy life.
