Robert Pfohl, Senior and National Account Executive at CareScope / Civic Health, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in marketing medical devices.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Knoxville in 1966, Mr. Pfohl found success from 1969 to 1973 in technical sales and as a cardiovascular training specialist with Medtronic, Inc., a leading medical device company. He then prospered as director of marketing and international sales with Hancock Laboratories, Inc. from 1973 to 1983 and vice president of sales and product development with Vitacomm, Inc., a producer of sensor technologies for general anesthesia administration, from 1983 to 1990.
With Specialized Clinical Services, (SCS), Inc. from 1990 to 1994, Mr. Pfohl excelled as director of marketing and eastern United States sales. He then provided superior service from 1995 to 2000 as director of marketing, sales and provider relations with Focus on Therapeutic Outcomes, (FOTO), Inc. and from 2000 to 2004 as marketing and sales director with ORION Health Care Consulting.
Since 2004, Mr. Pfohl has flourished as a senior and national account executive with CareScope/Civic Health in Knoxville, a comprehensive, holistic and enterprise level MIS for community health, human and social services, access-to-care, eligibility determination, referral directory, case management, comprehensive client demographic and tracking, care navigation, disease management, with extensive library of back office reports and ad hoc query capabilities for effective project, resource utilization, key-community leadership, stakeholder and grant reporting.
Mr. Pfohl attributes his success to listening and learning from other experienced clinicians as well as having enough background to understand the anatomy and physiology of the areas that he focused on. He became involved in his profession because of his experiences as a child and a teenager, when mother would come home and talk to him about her day working at the hospital. His father would come home and tell him what was going on with the entire department for IBM. In the coming years, Mr. Pfohl plans to continue giving back and devoting time to the ministry, and he also intends to volunteer at hospitals with greater frequency.
