Blake Powers, President at MedShorts, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in online pharmaceutical sourcing.
Since 2016 Mr. Powers has found much success as chief operating officer from 2016 to 2021 and as president from 2021 to the present of MedShorts, a premier online marketplace connecting pharmacies and pharmaceutical manufacturers with services including live customer care, dedicated account support, consolidated invoicing and payment processing, shipment tracking, streamlined access, and drug shortage updates.
After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in finance and entrepreneurship from the Florida State University College of Business in Tallahassee, Mr. Powers continued his education with a Master of Business Administration in 2011 from Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.
Mr. Powers prospered as vice president of marketing from 2011 to 2013 and chief operating officer from 2013 to 2015 with a national infusion & compounding pharmacy. He then served as principal of B3 Precision Medical Technologies, LLC in Jacksonville, Florida from 2015 to 2021, while consulting for a year with MedShorts.
As a career highlight, Mr. Powers writing a business plan for MedShorts, a startup with no employees or suppliers and to then forge a strategic alliance with multi-billion dollar organizations, as well as building a team that is passionate about designing intuitive software and applying it to solving real problems for the pharmaceutical industry. In the coming years, he would like to be able to grow MedShorts into a pharmaceutical procurement tool for nearly 10% of the hospitals across the country.
