Martha Jentz, Immediate Past President at Cancer League of Colorado, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cancer research.

From 2009 to 2010, Ms. Jentz served as president of the Cancer League of Colorado, a nonprofit organization with no paid staff and no offices whose operating expenses are covered by membership dues, with 100% of funds raised going to support its mission to support cancer research and patient services in the state of Colorado. Since 2010, she has continued to support the organization as Immediate Past President.

Ms. Jentz’s involvement with cancer research is one facet of her extraordinary efforts on behalf of cancer research as well as her community over the past few decades. Since 2010, she has served as a secretary and on the board of directors of LifeSpark Cancer Resources, a leading-edge non-profit organization that provides emotional healing treatments such as Reiki and Healing Touch, free of charge, that are complementary and integrative with traditional medical care. In addition, she was  secretary and on the board of directors of the Colorado Ballet Auxiliary and a board member of Christ Episcopal Church.

Following obtaining a bachelor’s degree in education from Southwestern Michigan College, Ms. Jentz continued her education with a master’s degree in family therapy in 1984 from Butler University in Indianapolis and has continued to work as a family therapist. Ms. Jentz became involved in her profession because of her desire to help other people. She started as a candy striper at Morristown

Memorial Hospital when she was in junior high school, later becoming a teacher and then a therapist.

According to Ms. Jentz, her career highlight has been her marriage of nearly 50 years and five children and seven grandchildren. She also cites her presidency of the Cancer League of Colorado, which has more than 400 members, as her proudest achievement.
