Christiana David, Speech Language Pathologist at Rady Children’s Hospital, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Providers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in speech therapy.

Since 2011, Ms. David has excelled as a speech language therapist with Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, providing family interventions and evaluations through developmental/play and behavioral approaches in various settings, including an outpatient clinic and both inpatient acute and rehabilitation units. She collaborates with occupational therapists, nutritionists, developmental specialists, teachers and psychologists in social-pragmatic groups and pairings in her present position.

Ms. David has extensive experience treating individuals with autism, hearing loss, cognitive impairments, brain injuries, childhood apraxia of speech, language disorders and feeding disorders. She has also helped children who are deaf or children utilize cochlear implants. In addition, she mentors undergraduate and graduate students during clinical placements, clinical fellows and newer therapists.

After initially obtaining a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in speech, language and hearing sciences from San Diego State University, Ms. David continued her education with coursework in auditory verbal practice with the Institute for Cochlear Implant Training. She later began her career as a graduate student clinician with SDSU Speech and Language Clinic, a student intern with the San Diego Regional Center, a speech-language pathology intern with Poway Unified School District, an undergraduate and graduate research assistant with the Laboratory for Language and Cognitive Neuroscience (LLCN) and a speech-language pathology intern with Tri-City Medical Center. Her many certifications include as an autism spectrum disorder clinical specialist by Evergreen as well as in CPR & AED from the American Heart Association.

Ms. David attributes her success to her curiosity with so many disorders and ways of learning, which has enabled her to learn so much. Her goal in life is to make people the best that they can be and she believes that she can make parents the best that they can be as she teaches them how to communicate with their child. In the future, Ms. David would like to develop a speech therapy program to broaden her reach from just the one-on-one sessions that she currently runs.
