Peggy A. Lane, LCSW, Owner at Alternative Paths Counseling, LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in social work and counseling.
Ms. Lane has provided superior care as a licensed clinical social worker for nearly three decades. She prepared for her later career with an Associate of Science in mental health from Middlesex Community College in Edison, New Jersey and followed with coursework in human services and administration from New Hampshire College, New Haven and later continued her education with a Master of Social Work in mental health from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven in 1992.
After excelling in practice with the Connecticut Mental Health Center, nursing homes, prisons and with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, Ms. Lane has flourished as owner and a clinical social worker with Alternative Paths Counseling, LLC in Wallingford, providing therapy services for patients with depression and anxiety, anger issues, fear and loneliness issues and specializing in grief, crisis, family, emotional, physical and sexual abuse, stress and finance Issues and substance abuse counseling. In 2021, Alternative Paths received a Wallingford’s Best Counselor Award.
Ms. Lane attributes her success to her passionate drive, her persistence, and to her dedication to helping others. She became involved in her profession because when she was seven or eight years of age she already knew that she wanted to be a social worker. Inspired by her desire to help people, she decided to pursue her education focusing on mental health, human services and social work. In coming years, Ms. Lane hopes to continue her work as a licensed clinical social worker. She also hopes to expand the practice by hiring more therapists where they currently have a need for them. Attracting and encouraging the younger generation to the practice is something that she hopes to do so that they can serve more people.
