Megan M. Boothby, PharmD, BCPS, Heart Failure Stewardship Pharmacist at Cone Health, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in pharmacy.
Since 2019, Dr. Boothby has excelled as a postgraduate acute care and cardiology pharmacy resident and a heart failure stewardship pharmacist with Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. In these positions, she offers recommendations of optimization of guideline directive therapy for patients with heart failure that are admitted to the hospital. Likewise, Dr. Boothby also aids in providing additional patient assistance in affording required medications.
Dr. Boothby notably earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati in 2019. She began her career as a pharmacy technician and intern with Walton Pharmacy and Ludlow Pharmacy, as well as the Cincinnati Veterans Administration Medical Center from 2014 to 2019. She has also been designated as a board-certified pharmacy specialist, which she considers to have been among her proudest professional moments. Dr. Boothby is currently pursuing a cardiologic pharmacy specialist certification.
Attributing her success to her mentors such as pharmacy mentors, pharmacy preceptors, and her residency program directors, Dr. Boothby maintains that taking an AP chemistry course as a junior in high school is what sparked her interest in the medical field, as her teacher encouraged her to pursue pharmacy. Knowing that she could work in a clinical setting is what inspired her to make it her career. In the coming years, Dr. Boothby intends to recruit more professionals to expand pharmacy services at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
