Joel Seth Aronson, Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC), has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Providers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in pharmacy.
Mr. Aronson obtained a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe College of Pharmacy in 1972. He joined Boston City Hospital, now a part of Boston Medical Center, in 1974 and prospered there as a staff pharmacist until 2002. While with Boston City Hospital and Boston Medical Center, he served as a union shop steward for the pharmacy department, where he handled grievances between management and employees when it appeared management was violating articles of the union contract.
Since 2011, Mr. Aronson has flourished as a clinical pharmacy specialist with the VAMC in Providence, Rhode Island. Mr. Aronson is the recent recipient of an I-CARE Leadership Award pin given by the United States Department for Veterans Affairs recognizing exemplary employees who have demonstrated sustained performance or a specific act of noteworthy nature relative to the department’s core values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence. In addition, he has received a Commendation from Boston City Hospital for his superior work during a blizzard in Boston. Mr. Aronson has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who Top Professionals and Industry Leaders and has won the Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award.
Mr. Aronson’s memberships include the American Pharmacists Association, the Massachusetts Pharmacists Association, the Massachusetts Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Mr. Aronson attributes his success to his compassion, being a good listener and pride in combining his love of chemistry and his enthusiasm for helping people into a lifelong profession. Additionally, he attributes his success to his willingness to assist pharmacy management to manage weekends and evening schedules for pharmacists and ensuring that veterans are properly cared for. Now retired, he is open to new opportunities in the industry.
