Since 2018, Ms. DiBernardo has provided superior care as a licensed mental health counselor with Expressive Connections Mental Health Counseling PLLC, assisting clients from children at the age of four through adults in their fifties. As part of her current practice, she specializes in counseling individuals and couples who have relationship difficulties as well as trauma and anxiety disorders. Prior to her private practice, she worked with a domestic violence agency in which she served as a program coordinator for a batterer intervention program for heterosexual men who were physically, emotionally and mentally abusive and violent or controlling toward their female partners.

After surviving a sexual assault as a teenager, Ms. DiBernardo initially considered a career in criminal justice, earning bachelor’s degrees in both criminology and psychology at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. With the counsel of one of her instructors, she pursued higher education in therapy, obtaining a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from St. John’s University in Queens, New York in 2018.

According to Ms. DiBernardo, her greatest professional achievement to date has been starting her own private practice and being able to build it into a successful venture, as evidenced by her growing clientele, most of whom are referrals by her existing clients. She has been supported throughout her career by her mentors, Susan Antelis MPS, BCN, BCB, ATS, ATR-BC, LCAT, LMHC, Dr. Lucy Barbera PhD, LCAT and Toni-Cara Stellitano LCSW, MSW. In the coming years, she plans to continue and expand her private practice as well as mentor others in order to reach and assist a greater number of people who are dealing with mental health issues.
