With a lifelong desire to pursue a career in the field of psychology, Ms. Touchet initially obtained a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2014 and a Master of Counselor Education in clinical mental health and school counseling in 2018. Currently, she is working towards becoming licensed as a nationally certified counselor by the National Board for Certified Counselors, a certified school counselor by the Louisiana Department of Education and a licensed professional counselor from the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselors. Moreover, she is in the process of receiving her ADHD certification. She began her professional career as a substance abuse technician at the New Beginnings Adolescent Recovery Center, holding the position from 2014 to 2016. Going forward, she found notable success as a mental health specialist for Rehab Services of Acadiana, a graduate assistant at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Center for Gifted Education and Counselor Education, a practicum student at the Edward J. Sam Accelerated School of Lafayette and a school counseling intern at Carencro High School.

In her current role, Ms. Touchet provides students in pre-K through second grade with counseling lessons on a variety of topics including anxiety, social skills, resiliency, responsibility, bullying and mindfulness. Moreover, she provides individual counseling for students dealing with personal crises and peer conflicts. Additionally, she helps other counselors at her school develop a comprehensive school counseling program. She attributes her success to her support system and her mentors, as well as her ambition, drive and perseverance to succeed. With an expected 2023 graduation, her goal is to complete her PhD in counselor education and supervision at the University of Holy Cross.
