Robert L. Foster, MS, ARRT, a retired healthcare technologist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Providers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in technology marketing.

Mr. Foster enjoyed a fulfilling career in technological marketing that spanned more than three and a half decades. Now retired, he previously served as a PACS administrator and consultant for the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System from 2004 until 2014. Prior to his work in healthcare, Mr. Foster found success in other technical fields as a manager at VasSol Inc., a software company, as a software engineer and marketing specialist for GE Medical System-IT Radiology Systems, and as a manager in various capacities with Lockheed Martin Medical Systems, Loral Western Development Labs, Siemens Gammasonics Inc. and Medtronic, beginning in 1980.

Before embarking upon his primary career path, Mr. Foster attended Bradley University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in physical education and English in 1969. Following this accomplishment, he served in the United States Air Force, where he rose to the rank of a captain as the navigator of a KC135 refueling aircraft from 1969 until 1974. He subsequently earned a Master of Science in physiology at Eastern Michigan University in 1979. During this time, Mr. Foster served as a medical technologist at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, from 1977 to 1980.

In a career suffused with highlights, Mr. Foster is most proud to have authored “What Is… Answers to Some Perplexing Questions in Science and Life” in 2019, which took four years to write and another to publish. Additionally, he has received several accolades throughout the course of his professional journey, such as recognition as one of the Top Paralegal Students in 1997, a Peer Recognition Quality Award from Siemens in 1992 and several military awards, including a U.S. Air Force Medal for his extensive recorded flight time.
