George Davis Manning III, Caregiver at Selinsgrove Nursing Home, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Providers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in caregiving.
When Mr. Manning initially accepted his first professional caregiver role at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, he had no idea the profound impact the position would have on his life. For over 30 years, he has dedicated his career to providing care to others. In his current role with Selinsgrove Nursing Home, he ensures that residents are clean and ready for the day’s activities and accompanies residents to their medical appointments. Above all, he is proud of his ability to communicate with residents, as he was able to learn from them in ways that he would not have been able to otherwise.
Mr. Manning earned a Master of Education in social studies and world history from Bloomsburg University, where he was selected for inclusion on the Dean’s List. Supplementing his career as a caretaker, he applies his experience as an educator for Selinsgrove Area High School. Out of 100 applicants, he is gratified to have been selected to teach due in part to his prior knowledge of Chinese and South Asian history. For his contributions in the field, he is honored to have been presented with the Social Studies and the United States History Award and the Employee of the Month Award at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village. He attributes his success to his persistence and his ability to properly credit those who have assisted him.
