Jennifer H. Thompson, Manager of Quality and Compliance at Bon Secours Mercy Health, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Providers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of nursing.
Drawing on more than 15 years of expertise in the field of nursing, Ms. Thompson is recognized for her exemplary accomplishments as a manager of quality and compliance at Bon Secours Mercy Health, for which she had worked for five years before rising to lead her department in 2018. Long motivated by the wealth of opportunities inherent in the nursing profession, Ms. Thompson has contributed her efforts as a nurse practitioner to various in-network hospitals, including Saint Mary’s Hospital, Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, and Saint Francis Medical Center, as well as with Neurosurgical Associates PC.
Before advancing to her current role, Ms. Thompson worked extensively in staff development, through which she developed a new graduate program for nurses hoping to advance in the field. The program subsequently earned distinction as the new standard for various hospitals throughout the local area, and, for her efforts, Ms. Thompson was bestowed with a recognition for excellence in staff development by the Central Virginia Association of Nursing Professional Development. Over the span of her career in the field, she is most proud to have forged a wonderful team that she works with every day, which has consistently gone above and beyond her expectations.
Having long aspired to enter the field of health care, Ms. Thompson first studied health science at James Madison University, from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in 2001. Though she initially sought to become a physician, she steered her career ambitions toward nursing, and subsequently sought certification as a registered nurse through the Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing, which she attained in 2003. Following this accomplishment, Ms. Thompson matriculated at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she received a Master of Public Health in 2009 and a Master of Science in community nursing during the same year.
Adjacent to her vocational efforts, Ms. Thompson was notably appointed to the School Health Advisory Board for Chesterfield County, Virginia, in 2017, a position she maintains into the present. Outside of her professional circles, however, she is happily married to her spouse, Ashley, and together they are the proud parents of two children. Looking toward the future, Ms. Thompson aspires to serve in a directorial capacity at her current company.
