Location: Fayetteville, Georgia, United States
Lynda M. Cokuslu, EdD, LPC, MAC, CPCS, RPT, a licensed practicing counselor, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in clinical therapy.
Dr. Cokuslu was inspired to pursue a career as a therapist by her grandfather, who established himself as a social worker with a home that doubled as a rehabilitation clinic during the later years of his life. Upon hearing of how her grandfather saved many lives, she decided to uphold his legacy and help others in the same way that he once had. Thereafter, she obtained a Bachelor of Applied Studies in healthcare administration from Clayton State University and a Master of Science in mental health from Capella University before continuing her education at Argosy University, where she graduated with a Doctor of Education in counseling psychology. Upon completing her studies, she received a Post Graduate Certificate in addiction counseling from Brighter Tomorrows Consultants, LLC. She is currently a therapist candidate for marriage and family therapy.
As a licensed practicing counselor, Dr. Cokuslu is responsible for counseling individuals with symptoms such as depression, anxiety, grief, substance abuse, and alcoholism. She is certified as a master addiction counselor, a medical assistant, a practicing counselor supervisor, and a registered play therapist. Though she initially began counseling children and teenagers, she has also provided assistance to the elderly through play therapy. She believes that play therapy is beneficial to adults as well as children, as it is a healthy method of coping with grief. She has maintained her memberships with the Licensed Practicing Counselor Association of Georgia, the Association of Play Therapy and the American Association of Medical Assistants.
