While living in New Jersey, Mr. Kelly served as a volunteer firefighter and an emergency medical technician, where he learned how to perform CPR. Understanding that health care professionals such as nurses, technicians and therapists provided valuable service to the industry, he went on to serve in further paramedic fields and worked in a trauma center for several years. Involved in the field of health care since 1981, Mr. Kelly has served as a respiratory therapist for CHS in Ocala, Florida since 2001. He holds certificates in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support and basic life support.
Notably, Mr. Kelly is a donor to the American Heart Association. In his formative years, he was influenced greatly by his mentor Marian Willis, a paramedic who inspired Mr. Kelly, as well as Mary Cormash, who encouraged Mr. Kelly to enter the medical field. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, he has witnessed the complexities of the virus and has served on the front lines of medical care to coronavirus patients. Looking toward the future, Mr. Kelly intends to witness the continued growth and success of his career. In addition, he also desires to teach up-and-coming professionals in the field.
