Having accrued more than five and a half decades of inimitable experience in her chosen field, Dr. Modisette has garnered a laudable reputation as an adjunct professor at LeTourneau University since 2004. Long dedicated to her students as an educational counselor, she has served as a supervisor in private practice on behalf of various public schools since 2001. Among her various positions in the field, Dr. Modisette previously earned distinction as a licensed specialist in school psychology, an education service center consultant, a principal and an educational diagnostician, as well as a classroom teacher.
Among her many career accomplishments, Dr. Modisette is most proud to have shepherded so many children on their way to success. Moreover, she feels blessed to work with graduate students as they prepare to become counselors in their own right. Dr. Modisette has garnered several awards, including recognition as a distinguished alumnus at Spring Hill High School in 2016, and various pens commemorating her longevity in the field.
Dr. Modisette was initially inspired to become involved in education due to the influence of her family. Not only were her parents teachers, but her two aunts also distinguished themselves as educators as well. Before venturing onto her vocational path, she attended Kilgore College, from which she earned an associate’s degree in 1959. Following this accomplishment, Dr. Modisette earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education, a Master of Education in guidance and counseling and a Doctor of Education in administration and psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1962, 1970 and 1983, respectively.
