Lailah Nabhan, Clinical Instructor of Medical Radiography at San Jacinto College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in radiography and higher education.
Subsequent to earning a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and psychology from Midwestern State University in 2008, Ms. Nabhan enlisted in the United States Army, where she chose radiology as her specialization. Serving as a radiology specialist with the military until her honorable discharge in 2013, she notably received an Associate of Science in radiography from the U.S. Army Medical Center and School in 2009, as well as served in Iraq. For her exemplary achievements in the Army, she received myriad accolades and decorations, such as the Iraq Campaign Medal with Two Campaign Stars, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Good Conduct Medal. Likewise, she also was honored with the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and two Certificates of Achievement. Despite her many awards, she is especially proud of earning the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal for her time served in Iraq.
After departing from the military, Ms. Nabhan moved to Texas, where she served as a short-term radiology technologist at the Friendswood Urgent Care Center from 2014 to 2015. She has flourished as a clinical instructor of medical radiography at San Jacinto College since 2019.
To further her breadth of knowledge of the field, Ms. Nabhan received a license in computed tomography from Houston Community College in 2015. As such, she has served as a C-Arm operator within several operating rooms and pain management clinics throughout Houston, and also excelled in various part-time positions for staffing agencies. Civically engaged as well, Ms. Nabhan has donated to Goodwill and the Salvation Army.
In an effort to remain abreast of developments in the field, Ms. Nabhan has held memberships with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. She credits her success to the support and encouragement of her mother and grandmother. Living by the motto, “Live life to the fullest,” she also attributes her success to her perseverance and tenacity when overcoming personal obstacles. Currently, Ms. Nabhan is attending school for nursing. Looking toward the future, she intends to work on an additional master’s degree to become a nurse practitioner.
