Title: Occupational Therapy Assistant
Location: Edison, New Jersey, United States
Tiffany Flowers, Occupational Therapy Assistant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in occupational therapy.
From watching her father excel as a mortician, Ms. Flowers originally thought she would follow the same path. When a relative became a double amputee, she became inspired by his journey through occupational therapy, which further inspired her to take on the profession. In 1995, Ms. Flowers earned an Associate of Science from LaGuardia Community College and commenced her career as an occupational therapy assistant for an independent contractor. Specializing in geriatric and pediatric occupational therapy, she helps her clients with strength training, day-to-day activities and routines of living.
In her profession, Ms. Flowers most enjoys putting smiles on her clients’ faces and getting them into a happy positive mood even if they do not like or want to do the therapy. With this sentiment, her advice to aspiring occupational therapists is to do the work from the heart, pay attention and communicate soundly. Outside of her primary role, Ms. Flowers is an active member of her church, where she has donated personal protective equipment and plans to take temperatures upon its reopening due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking ahead, she plans to experience the continued growth and success of her career.
