Since 1987, Dr. Medvin has excelled as a clinical, industrial and organizational psychologist at her private practice in Coral Gables, Florida. She is noted for her unparalleled expertise in leveraging her skillset to provide behavioral health service and consultation to individuals, families and couples. She began her career in psychology in 1984, remaining consistent in the quality of care she provides to her clients. Dr. Medvin’s methodologies are tailored to each client’s individuals needs that are based upon their reliance of physical, emotional, behavioral and spiritual wellbeing. Guided by a holistic approach, her practice includes therapeutic techniques ranging from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and behavior modification to various mind-body approaches. In her practice, she utilizes such therapeutic techniques as psychodynamic, gestalt, crisis management, cognitive behavioral therapy and mind-body approaches.

In Dr. Medvin’s clinical practice, she provides consultation to overcome various issues, including stress management, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, personal change and adjustment.  Her organizational consulting has focused on the versatile application of behavioral science principles and best practices to help organizations manage change and enhance organizational learning, effectiveness and workforce capability.  She has worked extensively with corporate employee assistance and wellness, career assessment and development, and mediation and conflict resolution programs. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Medvin has taught applied psychology at Florida International University since 1988 and as an adjunct professor of applied psychology and business at the University of Miami. In addition to these positions, she has provided her skills and expertise to Saint Thomas University and Barry University.

Prior to her clinical practice, Dr. Medvin garnered experience as a staff psychologist and quality assurance chairperson for the North Miami Community Mental Health Center in Miami from 1984 until 1988. She later served as a Director of Planning and Effectiveness at Miami-Dade Community College from 1994 to 1996. She worked as a Performance Consultant on behalf of Baptist Health Systems of South Florida from 1996 to 2000 and for the City of Miami as an Applied Psychologist, Training and Development Coordinator, and Employee Assistance Program Administrator between 2000 and 2011.

Exceptionally qualified in her field, Dr. Medvin earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with high honors from Florida International University in 1981; a Master of Science in psychology with honors from the University of Georgia in 1984; and a Doctor of Philosophy in clinical and industrial-organizational psychology with high honors from Florida International University in 1993. In addition to being a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida, she has been certified as a mediator through the Florida Supreme Court. She is a diplomate of both the American Board Psychological Specialties and the American College of Disability Analysts and, among other qualifications, is a certified substance abuse professional through the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals

Engaged in her local community, Dr. Medvin serves on various community and corporate advisory boards within the realms of health care and education. From 2005 to 2011, she sat on the business technical advisory board of the Dade County Public Schools and has conducted pro bono career development and psychological services. Additionally, she volunteered with the Switchboard of Miami Crisis Counseling, South Florida AIDS Network, Red Ribbon Counsel/Informed Families of Dade County, and Habitat for Humanity. Furthermore, Dr. Medvin has contributed a plethora of articles to professional journals within the areas of leadership, personality and human relations and has lent her expertise to the development of HR metrics, statistical performance models, and organizational culture and climate surveys. Likewise, she has developed creativity and executive development training and coaching programs for businesses and individuals.

Dr. Medvin is a fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners, and is also a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Board of Disability Analysts, the Society of Human Resource Management and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. The Florida Institute of Management bestowed upon her a Recognition Award for Merit and Excellence in Community Support and for Mentoring Others in 2009, and she earned another Recognition Award for Leadership and Community Contributions during Women’s History Month in 2007. She has been highlighted in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
