Robert H. Rainey, Physical Therapist at Kindred at Home, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in physical therapy.
Growing up playing football, Mr. Rainey witnessed various types of injuries and wanted to take on a profession in which he could help athletes through their treatment. He went on to attain a Bachelor of Arts in physical therapy from Tuskegee University in 1981, opening the door to his career in physical therapy. Since 1981, Mr. Rainey has worked and managed in various settings, including home health, hospitals, occupational health and work hardening programs, skilled nursing facilities and outpatient clinics. For the past five years, since 2015, he has excelled as a physical therapist and program director of home health with Kindred at Home.
Outside of his primary role, Mr. Rainey has been president of the Physical Therapist Network for Independent Practitioners, as well as a board member of the Physical Therapy Network in the state of Georgia. From 1992 to 1996, he was co-chairman of the Leicester of Irregulation Committee for the Federation of State Laws of Physical Therapy. Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Rainey considers his highlight to be educating patients on the process of how to continue their treatment after discharge from his services. Likewise, he has helped write and defend proposals to insurance companies for the networks. Mr. Rainey attributes his career success to hard work and education, as he is always trying to fit the pieces together for each patient on a case-by-case basis. In five years’ time, he hopes to ease into a well-deserved retirement. When he is not working, Mr. Rainey is active with the Greater Pine Grove Baptist Church.
