Daniel K. Gregory, Retired Pharmacist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in pharmacy.
From watching his father excel as an ophthalmologist, Dr. Gregory became inspired to pursue a career within the realm of health care. In addition, a family friend was the head of a pharmacy board in Louisiana, which lead him to become interested in pharmacy. Matriculating at Northeast Louisiana University, now known as the University of Louisiana Monroe, Dr. Gregory received a Bachelor of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy in infectious disease in 1982. Upon completing an internship within the chemical dependency until at the Baton Rouge General Hospital, he was brought on as a staff pharmacist. Showing his prowess, he was later appointed as director of the chemical dependency center at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Between 1982 and 1990, Dr. Gregory had also offered his expertise to the Blake Medical Center, Manatee Memorial Hospital and Family Pharmacy of Bradenton.
At the tail end of his career, Dr. Gregory excelled as a pharmacy manager at Walmart for two years and as a pharmacist at PharMerica for 15 years. After specializing in chemical dependency and clinical pharmacy for nearly 30 years, he officially commenced his retirement in 2013. Finding great success throughout the course of his illustrious career, he was the recipient of first, second and third place awards from numerous competitions. He attributes his success to having kept his mind on his work, along with his desire to shine in anything he took on. In addition, he was an administrator to the Santa Files. In his spare time, Dr. Gregory is an avid painter, creative writer and photographer. He currently maintains signature membership with the Florida Water Color Association.
