Wolfgang A. Klebel, PhD, Owner and Clinical Psychiatrist at City of the Heart Psychological Services, APC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Dr. Klebel’s combined interest in counseling science and religion is what drove him to pursue his profession. In 1957, he graduated from Papal University Gregoriana in Rome, Italy, with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. He then furthered his studies in Austria before moving to Chapman University and earning a Master of Arts in counseling. In 1976, he concluded his academic endeavors by earning a PhD in psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary’s Graduate School of Psychology. In 1984, he was hired as a senior psychologist at the California Prison. He remained there until 2004, working alongside his role as a private clinical psychologist. He continues that work today in conjunction with his newfound position as the owner and clinical psychologist for the City of the Heart Psychological Services, PC.
Outside of his primary endeavors, Dr. Klebel has additionally found success as an author. In 2020, he published his book, “The Human Heart, One and Undivided: Following My Heart’s Inspirations from Catholic Priest to Baha’i.” A certified Catholic Priest, Dr. Klebal always remembers to “live from the heart.” He attributes much of his success to the advice of his former professor, which was to always learn from his patients.
An active participant in his professional community, Dr. Klebel maintains affiliation with the psychoanalytic section of the American Psychological Association. The highlight of his career has been the satisfaction he finds in helping his patients, as he believes that is the meaning of being a true psychologist. An expert in dynamic therapy, Dr. Klebel plans to expand the size of his practice to address the growing demand for staff and therapy rooms on the grounds.
