Prior to the start of her career, Ms. Centafont pursued a formal education at Slippery Rock University and received a Bachelor of Science in health education in 1975. Two years later, she secured a Bachelor of Science in occupational therapy from Temple University in 1977. Furthermore, she concluded her academic efforts with a Master of Science from Temple University in 1987.

She began her profession as a staff member of occupational therapy with Easterfields in Montgomery County, further joining the Bucks County Association for Retarded Citizens as an occupational therapy consultant in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Ms. Centafont later accepted the position of director of occupational therapy for the Community Foundation for Development in Sellersville, Pennsylvania. She later worked as the chief of occupational therapy for Rolling Hill Hospital in Elkins Park, before assuming employment as an occupational therapy consultant for a private practice. An active member of her community, Ms. Centafont has served as a leader of Girl Scouts for 12 years, and as a participant in the Centennial Spirit Service Unit as chairman for 14 years. In the past, she excelled as a member of the Church of the Redemption.

A member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Ms. Centafont also maintained a professional relationship with the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association. For her accomplishments in the field, she was presented with the Outstanding Volunteer Award from the Centennial Spirit Service Unit in 2016. She was also featured in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who Among Human Service Professionals, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women.
