Elizabeth Francis, Recovery Support Specialist at Connections Health Solutions, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the fields of substance abuse recovery and mental health care.

Prior to Ms. Francis’ health care career, she studied at the Burlington County Institute of Technology from 1996 to 2000, graduating with a diploma in cosmetology. She worked at a classic Chevrolet dealership from 2002 to 2007, as an accounting clerk and front desk receptionist at Brake Max Corporation in 2007, and as a receptionist at Animal Birth Control in 2008. Ms. Francis began transitioning into health care as a medical records specialist and audit clerk at Providence Corporation, and in 2012, she became a Unit Coordinator at Crisis Response Network, where she worked until 2015. Upon finding her current career, she immediately accepted a position at Connections Health Solutions, and in 2016, became a certified Recovery Support Specialist.

Ms. Francis is a life member of the International Association of Peer Support, and attributes her success to the wonderful team with whom she works. She credits her close friend Ty Logan, who gave her the opportunity to do her job, taught her to be present in the moment, and helped her come out of her shell as a public speaker. Furthermore, she credits her parents—her father taught her the importance of working for what you want and believe in, and her mother taught her to never judge a book by its cover. Ms. Francis finds the most rewarding part of her career to be her ability to prove to someone that they can overcome challenges, mistakes and hardships, and come out better for it. She is the co-founder of Support Groups for Peers and a volunteer for Suicide Walk, in addition to various community events. In the coming years, she would like to earn additional certifications and pursue a management position.
