Elizabeth Taft, Health Science Facility Administrator and Nurse, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care administration and case management.

Ms. Taft attended Brown University from 1955 to 1957, and transitioned to Johns Hopkins University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1960. She worked as a staff nurse and assistant head nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital from 1960 to 1962, and briefly served as a staff nurse at Palo Alto-Stanford Hospital until 1963. From 1964 to 1966, Ms. Taft acted as a public health nurse at the Department of Health and Welfare for San Mateo County. She earned a Master of Science in nursing from the University of California San Francisco in 1967, and accepted a position at Stanford University Hospital, where she served in various roles until 1977, when she started as director of the discharge planning program. In 1981, Ms. Taft began working as the discharge planning coordinator at Stanford University Hospital, and in 1989, she earned a Master of Arts in counseling from Santa Clara University. From 1990 until her retirement in 2012, she served as the relief case manager at Stanford University Hospital.

In addition to her multiple degrees, Ms. Taft holds an Advanced Certificate in Continuity of Care. She served as a clinical lecturer at Stanford University from 1968 to 1990, and has contributed to multiple published works. She co-authored the Counselor Desk Reference and the Senior Health Insurance Manual in 1986, as well as the Discharge Planning Guide for Nurses in 1990. Ms. Taft has maintained memberships to a variety of professional organizations, including the American Association of Continuity of Care, the California Association of Continuity of Care, the American Public Health Association, and the Gerontology Society, among others. As a testament to her success and stature, Ms. Taft was featured in the fourth and fifth editions of Who’s Who in American Nursing.
