Carol Ripley, Retired Social Worker for Ellisville State School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in social work.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Ripley demonstrated an expertise working with developmentally disabled persons in the academic setting. Driven by her compassion and her belief that she was put on earth to serve others, she feels lucky to have been able to make an impact on the lives of many children and their families. She concluded her career in 2018 as a social worker for Ellisville State School. She served in this role for 20 years, having previously found success as a case manager for the Multi-County Community Agency and for Weems Mental Health Center, both located in Meridian, Mississippi. For her professional excellence in her career, she earned an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.

To support a career in social work, Mrs. Ripley invested her time and efforts into her education before establishing herself professionally. She earned an Associate of Arts from the Jones County Junior College in 1986, a Bachelor of Sociology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1989 and a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1993. Considered an expert in her field, she contributed to her industry through her work with the National Association of Social Workers, the Mississippi Conference of Social Welfare and the University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association. As she looks to the future, Mrs. Ripley intends to enjoy her retirement through her favorite activities, which include traveling, going to church and listening to gospel music.

Mrs. Ripley would like to give special thanks to her loving husband John Lewis Ripley Jr., her parents Frankie and Erminia Peyton, and thanks to her pastor Leander Bridges the 1st and Springhill Missionary Baptist Church of Ellisville Mississippi.
