Rosalina Cruz has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in marriage and family therapy.
Since 1972, Ms. Cruz has helped marriages and families in her role as a counselor and therapist. She was inspired to go into this line of work after watching her husband receive a postgraduate degree at the University of Minnesota in cardiovascular Surgery. She originally earned a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of the Philippines in 1955 and taught for two years at Roosevelt High School in Manila before relocating to the United States. She spent the next two years teaching at the Holy Spirit Catholic School while matriculating at Trinity University to receive an MEd in guidance counseling in 1972. In 1972, she began working as a counselor at the Holy Spirit Catholic School. In addition, she joined a private practice in 1980 and has consistently helped families in this venture.
In addition to her work as a therapist and counselor, Ms. Cruz is involved in many child abuse prevention programs, including serving on the advisory board of the Child Abuse Prevention Services. She has also chaired the family advisory board at St. Mary’s University. In 1991, she was named the Volunteer of the Year with the Child Abuse Prevention Services. Ms. Cruz has also received a Community Service Award. Throughout her career, she has maintained affiliation with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the Texas Counseling Association, the San Antonio Marriage and Family Therapy, the South Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the Licensed Professional Counselors of Texas.
