Joe C. Pacifico has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in school counseling.
Throughout his career, Mr. Pacifico has been committed to impacting the lives of others through guidance and advisement. He began his career in the health care field in 1998 after spending two decades as an account representative and salesperson for Wallace Computer Services, Inc. “I made a shift in my career to make a greater impact on society,” he shares, adding that his background as a salesman gave him an advantage because he already knew how to focus on the needs of others. Regarded by industry peers and patients alike as someone with a good heart and positive energy, he established his career in counseling as a master’s level therapist for the Family and Marriage Therapy Center in Burtonsville, Maryland. From there, he joined the team at Christian Counseling Associates, where he was a master’s level therapist for three years followed by a licensed clinical professor counselor for 11 years until his retirement. During his tenure with Christian Counseling Associates, Mr. Pacifico also took on additional roles outside of his scope of work including as leader of the anger management group, as well as board member, vice president and director of development.
Mr. Pacifico’s career successes are supported by his education. He holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Maryland, an MBA in marketing from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science in counseling and psychology from Loyola College. In addition, he holds a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) designation and is a trained instructor accredited by the Couple Communications Program. To share his expertise with his industry, Mr. Pacifico has given back through his written works. He published multiple articles in professional journals including “Taming Anger in Schools,” “Anger Management,” “Responding to an Angry Child,” and “Anger Prevention and Management: Breaking the Cycle.”
Outside of his professional work, Mr. Pacifico loves hiking, biking and golfing. He is an avid photographer of nature and maintains membership with the North American Nature Photographers. Mr. Pacifico has been happily married for 47 years and has two sons – each married with two children apiece. In the years to come, Mr. Pacifico intends to enjoy his retirement by spending as much time as possible with his family.
