Edwin Fred Tulloch, PhD, minister, chaplain and psychotherapist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in pastoral counseling.
For the last 57 years, Dr. Tulloch has played an important role within the ministry as a Presbyterian clergyman and licensed professional counselor. As someone whose faith is just as strong as his compassion for others, he has met with success by never giving up; in fact, “giving up” is something that Dr. Tulloch states that he doesn’t believe in. Early on in his life, this mantra played a key role in helping him to achieve a basketball scholarship to Wharton Community College and Temple College, where he achieved an Associate of Arts in 1957. From there, Dr. Tulloch pursued and achieved the education he needed as a foundation for his ministry work. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University, a Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, a THM from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Southern Methodist University. Later, Dr. Tulloch returned to his studies to achieve a PhD from Texas A&M University-Commerce (known then as East Texas State University) and a Master of Science from the same institution.
Today, Dr. Tulloch finds success as a chaplain for the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and a psychotherapist for the Pastoral Counseling and Education Center. In these roles since 1988, he feels proud to have made a positive impact on the lives of so many people through his fellowship work. In addition, Dr. Tulloch has been in private practice as a counselor since 1992. Previously, Dr. Tulloch came to prominence in his career as an associate pastor for the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas, pastor for the First Presbyterian Church of Dickinson, and pastor for the Highland Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs, AK. He is also known for his former work as a guest lecturer at such universities as Texas A&M University-Commerce, Southern Methodist University, and the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. For his professional excellence, Dr. Tulloch was the recipient of an Eastern Star Religious Award and an Outstanding Alumni in Commerce by Texas A&M University. In the future, Dr. Tulloch intends to continue in his life’s work.
