John Flatter, Psychologist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in mental health care.
Dr. Flatter was inspired to go into his profession by his father, who was a physicist. His love of science grew over the years and his own interests inspired him to venture into helping others with their mental health. He feels that he’s doing what he was meant to do. Since 1988, he has provided his skills and expertise in private practice. From 1986 to 1988, he served as an assistant director of the outpatient clinic at Sinai Hospital. Prior to this position, he was a staff psychologist at the institution. Earlier in his career, Dr. Flatter was a counselor at Wayne State University and a teacher in the Kettering City School District.
Knowing the path he wanted to take in life, Dr. Flatter first earned a Bachelor of Science at Bowling Green State University in 1967. He continued his academic pursuits at the University of Dayton, receiving a Master of Science in 1969, and an EdD at Wayne State University in 1975. For his work, he has received a number of accolades including the Men of Achievement from the International Biographical Centre, the International Directory of Distinguished Leadership Award from the American Biographical Institute Inc. He has been a member of the American Psychological Association.
