Janet K. Dyer, Medical Technologist at Nephrology Associates, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Health Care Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the health care industry.
Inspired to delve into her profession due to her desire to help people, Ms. Dyer felt that patients were not being properly treated in their current environments and sought to make a genuine difference in the field. Serving as a medical technologist for several institutions, including Nephrology Associates, Quest Diagnostics, Mercy Hospital, Cuero Hospital and Savannah Medical Specialties, she commenced her career as a laboratory supervisor at the Oklahoma Blood Institute. She also served as a phlebotomy instructor at the Great Plains Technology Center, where she implemented a strict teaching regimen to ensure that the best students moved forward with their career.
Alongside her primary endeavors, Ms. Dyer spent many years in Germany during her husband’s military service. She served as a laboratory supervisor with the United States Army Clinic. Realizing that soldiers and their families did not have accessible health care facilities, she drove individuals to Frankfurt, Germany, for medical care. She eventually spoke with an officer, and a health care dispensary was built upon her suggestion. While living in Germany, she also served as vice president of the NCO Wives Club and president of the Red Cross.
A member of the American Association of Bioanalysts, Sigma Delta Upsilon and the Phi Delta Society, Ms. Dyer received the Front Line Employee Award from Quest Diagnostics in 2003 and the Molly Pitcher Award from the United States Army in 1987. She was also highlighted in the third edition of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
