Supported by more than four decades of industry experience, Ms. Young has been serving as a speech pathologist and director of Speech Pathology Services in Carlsbad and Temecula, CA, since 1984. Alongside this role, she has also been a speech pathologist for the Lake Elsinore Unified School District since 1998. Prior to obtaining these positions, she was a speech pathologist and speech and hearing screening coordinator at Riverview Hearing, Speech, Language Centers between 1978 and 1984.
In addition to her primary endeavors, Ms. Young was a coordinator of public service announcements and interviewee for Disabilities Awareness Week on ABC-TV in San Diego, having formerly been a producer of various television shows on communication disorders via Long Beach Cable TV. Furthermore, she invented the game “Match This!” in 1995 and authored the children’s book “Bird Boy” in 2006.
A member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Ms. Young holds an Associate of Arts from Palomar Community College, a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Chico, and a Master of Arts from California State University, Long Beach. Maintaining membership with Zeta Tau Alpha, she received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 1987. She has also been included in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
