Supported by more than 35 years of professional excellence, Ms. White is a compassionate and well-respected nursing professional who most recently served as a school nurse and director of health services at Unified School District #353 in Wellington, KS, from 1974 until her retirement from the industry in 1994. Prior to this prominent role, she was a staff nurse at several hospitals, including Wellington Hospital and Clinic from 1971 to 1974, St. Luke’s Hospital from 1961 to 1963, and St. Francis Hospital from 1957 to 1960.

During her career, Ms. White also served as a human sexuality teacher trainer for the Kansas Department of Education and a human sexuality and AIDS education trainer for elementary school teachers. Sitting on the advisory council on health and physical education for the State of Kansas, she also served as a member of the planning committee for implementing school nurse certification programs at Wichita State University. Locally involved, she has further been the director of Community Theater and a church executive for United Methodist Women.

The recipient of a diploma from St. Francis School of Nursing, Ms. White is a certified school nurse through Pittsburg State University and a national certified school nurse and registered nurse in the state of Kansas. In an effort to remain abreast of recent developments within the industry, she has maintained affiliation with the Kansas School Nurse Organization, where she formerly served as president and legislative co-chair, as well as the National Association of School Nurses, the American Nurses Association and Kappa Kappa Iota.

Delving into nursing due to her admiration for the profession from a formative age, Ms. White was named Kansas School Nurse of the Year by the Kansas School Nurse Organization in 1991. She has also been highlighted in the sixth edition of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, the seventh edition of Who’s Who in American Education, the 60th edition of Who’s Who in America, the 23rd edition of Who’s Who in the World, and the 24th through 27th editions of Who’s Who of American Women.

Married to Wayne Lee White since 1957, Ms. White is the proud mother of three children, six grandchildren, one step-granddaughter and two great-grandchildren. She enjoys singing, acting, directing theater productions, playing the piano and traveling in her spare time.
